Tom Ward
I scrutinise the tension, beauty, and malfunction of the alienated. I examine the Tulpa characters through abstract digital bugs, sound, video, collaborative performance, and digital collage. Beauty is found in the fragmentation and the scraps.
The character tropes and performance are utilised as a vehicle to explore my own sense of self. Characters, behaviours, emotions, and objects create energy through sound. Lines blur between reality, nostalgia, and meditation forming a dreamscape of fear, anxieties and love.
This process driven practice with its prompts to engage imagination becomes a voracious consumption of narrative. The process deconstructs the fragmentation of memory and social structures, revealing new characters in a cosmic overlap.
