My practice endeavours to uncover difficult and visceral sensations.
Working in the medium of painting, impressions of tangible corporeal mess are imbued. Removed organic bodily matter and debris, such as hair and spit, is entwined with un-primed and un-stretched canvas to make one aware of their own body and its most intimate elements within mediated space.Probing to unveil the violence marred in everyday, private and familial spaces (consider for example, the home,) the impossible task of interrogating the records and traces of these strictly guarded, interior moments is seized. By reason of tangling mediums onto canvas that will certainly subject it to quiet malignant deterioration, a reflective affect is devised to reveal the relentless, pervasive discomfort embedded in ordinary life.
