Calia O'Rourke
Perhaps I am both, an artist and a writer, or perhaps I am neither or I am one of each and never the two at the same time or forever both in one. This (un)certainty is where I go and I channel and explore, I observe and navigate and interrogate and share (or hide) everything (and nothing) I find as I run around and in-between, as I go through and over and under and all over the spaces that exist (or don’t) in sculpture and writing and painting and poetry and dancing and moving and giving and slumping and loving and standing. I am picking apart what lies beneath (or above) (or next to) and all that is left in the cracks and crevices and grooves and tiny and gaping holes. I am polishing and preserving and pulling and arranging all that we can see and everything we can’t. Some things are best kept a secret, but I quite like sharing a little bit with you.
