Digital creations, both photographic and software-generated, are made to be various embodiments of myself and serve as a vessel for the exploration of inner truths—truths that could answer the question: What has my personal evolution been?
In the introspective process of self-portraiture, I attempt to grapple with questions of faith, memory, sexuality, and the fluidity of desire and pleasure through a multidisciplinary practice; all to unravel the layers of my identity. By exploring one facet of the human experience—faith—and expressing my respect but simultaneous resistance towards the Orthodoxy of my Greek heritage, I have immersed myself in a new world that blends traditional imagery and contemporary tools. This idea of a new world connects to broader themes, including implications of the sacred, which in turn forms a dichotomous relationship between religiosity and digital modernity.
