Amber Macklin

I am a Naarm based artist who is currently preoccupied with bronze, drawing and the image object. I am fascinated by our encounters with objects, why we come to attribute excess meaning to things and how these relationships are ultimately unstable. My work is not interested in objectivity but rather a hyper-subjectivity. Through repetition I look to trace my desire as it shifts and circles. If my work were a quote it would have to be this one: ‘And the last remnants memory destroys’ - Henry Selwyn.
